Medical Coder

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coding Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding with expertise in Anesthesia, ENM, Surgery, and Pain Management specialties. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines, be CPC certified, and have hands-on experience with ECW and CT. The role requires excellent analytical skills, quality-focused coding practices, and the ability to ensure accurate and compliant coding in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes.
• Perform coding for Anesthesia, ENM, Surgery, and Pain Management specialties while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity targets as defined by the organization and clients.
• Identify documentation gaps and communicate with relevant stakeholders for clarification when required.
• Manage coding-related denials by identifying root causes, ensuring appropriate corrective actions, and supporting timely claim resolution to maximize reimbursement.
• Ensure adherence to payer-specific guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct coding quality checks and participate in internal audits as needed.
• Utilize ECW and CT platforms effectively for coding and documentation review.
• Stay updated on coding changes, industry regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with quality, operations, and client teams to resolve coding-related queries.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Medical Coding.
• Experience in Anesthesia, ENM, Surgery, and Pain Management specialties is mandatory.

Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of Human Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology.
• Thorough knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Familiarity with payer guidelines and healthcare compliance standards.
• Working knowledge of ECW and CT platforms.

Skills:

• CPC Certification is mandatory.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to coding accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage productivity and quality expectations in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and coding-related applications.

Preferred Criteria:

• Local candidates from Mohali or nearby locations preferred.
• Immediate joiners will be given preference.
