Role Overview

Khaitan India Ltd. is looking for a seasoned, results-driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to spearhead sales growth, channel expansion, and retail penetration across the key South Bengal territory encompassing Murshidabad, Birbhum, and Nadia districts.

Mandatory Requirement: This opening is strictly reserved for sales professionals with a solid background in Ceiling Fans, Home Appliances, and LED Lighting. Candidates must possess deep-rooted channel sales experience and strong distributor networks within these specific categories.

The incumbent will oversee primary and secondary sales delivery, manage distribution health, lead frontline sales executives, and build deep counter-level presence across electrical hardware, appliance stores, and wholesale trade.

Key Responsibilities

• Target & Revenue Delivery: Formulate and execute territory-level sales plans to consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets (volume and value) across fans, appliances, and LED products.
• Distributor & Retail Expansion: Identify, appoint, and nurture distributors, sub-dealers, and retail outlets across primary and secondary towns in Murshidabad, Birbhum, and Nadia.
• Secondary Sales & Beat Discipline: Enforce strict Permanent Journey Plans (PJP) and beat discipline for Sales Officers / Territory Executives to maximize counter-level extraction and secondary stock rotation.
• Commercial Governance & Collections: Ensure disciplined credit control, timely payment collections, proper reconciliation of distributor accounts, and healthy distributor ROI.
• Trade Marketing & Counter Share: Execute trade schemes, festive offers, retail branding, and local electrician/retailer meets to maximize brand recall and counter visibility.
• Depot & Logistics Coordination: Work closely with the Kolkata/regional depot and supply chain teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and eliminate stock-outs across fast-moving SKUs.
• Market Intelligence: Track competitor activities, pricing trends, trade scheme margins, and new product launches across local markets to provide actionable inputs to senior management.

Candidate Profile

• Core Category Experience: 14–16 years of hands-on channel sales experience strictly in Ceiling Fans, Home Appliances, or LED Lighting.
• Territory Familiarity: Comprehensive understanding of the trade dynamics, electrical markets, and dealer networks across Murshidabad, Birbhum, and Nadia.
• Commercial Expertise: Sound knowledge of channel margins, scheme management, working capital turnover, and credit risk control.
• Team Leadership: Proven track record of managing, mentoring, and driving targets through field sales officers.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in Bengali and Hindi/English is essential for local market management.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in any stream; an MBA/PGDM in Marketing or Sales is an added advantage.
