Kingston Educational Institute (KEI) is inviting applications from qualified, experienced, and dedicated academic professionals for the following positions:

1.Head of Department (HOD)

2.Assistant Professor in the following disciplines:


BBA – Bachelor of Business Administration

BCA – Bachelor of Computer Applications

BHHA – Bachelor of Hotel and Hospitality Administration

BBA (HM) – Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospital Management)

BMLT – Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology


1. HEAD OF DEPARTMENT (HOD)

The Head of Department will be responsible for providing academic leadership, faculty supervision, curriculum implementation, student development, and overall departmental administration while ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.


Key Responsibilities

A. Academic Leadership

Plan, coordinate, and monitor the overall academic activities of the department.

Ensure effective implementation of the prescribed curriculum and academic calendar.

Prepare and monitor departmental teaching plans, timetables, lesson plans, and academic schedules.

Monitor syllabus coverage and ensure timely completion of academic requirements.

Maintain and improve academic standards within the department.

Coordinate internal assessments, examinations, practicals, assignments, projects, and other academic activities.

Review students' academic performance and initiate appropriate improvement measures.

B. Faculty Management

Supervise, guide, and monitor faculty members of the department.

Allocate subjects, classes, academic responsibilities, and departmental duties among faculty members.

Monitor faculty attendance, workload, teaching performance, and academic deliverables.

Conduct regular departmental meetings and maintain proper records/minutes.

Mentor newly appointed faculty members and support their professional development.

Ensure timely submission of lesson plans, attendance records, internal assessment marks, question papers, results, and other academic documents.

C. Student Development

Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.

Address student academic concerns and coordinate appropriate resolutions.

Monitor student attendance, academic performance, discipline, and participation in institutional activities.

Encourage seminars, workshops, projects, internships, industrial exposure, and co-curricular activities.

Promote student engagement, employability, and career development.

D. Departmental Administration

Maintain proper departmental records and documentation.

Coordinate with the Principal, Academic Coordinator, HR, Examination Department, and other administrative departments.

Ensure compliance with institutional policies, academic regulations, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Prepare departmental reports and submit them within the prescribed timelines.

Identify departmental requirements relating to faculty, classrooms, laboratories, equipment, software, library resources, and other academic facilities.

Monitor the proper utilization and maintenance of departmental resources.

E. Quality & Institutional Development

Participate in academic audits, inspections, accreditation-related activities, and quality-improvement initiatives.

Develop innovative teaching and learning practices.

Encourage faculty research, publications, conferences, seminars, workshops, and professional development.

Support institutional academic planning and strategic initiatives.

Maintain a culture of discipline, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Profile

Required Qualification

Min Master's as applicable to the discipline and prevailing regulatory norms.

5-8 years teaching and academic administration experience.

Strong leadership and faculty-management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to coordinate multiple academic and administrative responsibilities.

Prior HOD/academic leadership experience will be preferred.

Relevant industry exposure/research experience will be an added advantage.


2. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

The Assistant Professor will be responsible for effective teaching, student mentoring, academic coordination, assessment, and participation in institutional academic activities in the respective discipline.

Key Responsibilities

A. Teaching & Learning

Deliver effective lectures and practical sessions as assigned.

Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, presentations, assignments, and other academic resources.

Ensure timely and effective completion of the prescribed syllabus.

Use appropriate teaching methodologies and technology to enhance student learning.

Conduct tutorials, practicals, presentations, case studies, and other learning activities as required.

B. Student Mentoring

Guide and mentor students in academic and professional matters.

Monitor student attendance and academic performance.

Identify students requiring additional academic support and provide appropriate guidance.

Maintain professional and constructive communication with students.

Encourage participation in seminars, workshops, projects, competitions, internships, and other activities.

C. Assessment & Examination

Prepare assignments, internal assessment materials, question papers, and other evaluation components.

Conduct internal examinations, practical examinations, presentations, viva-voce, and assessments as assigned.

Evaluate answer scripts, assignments, projects, and other academic work.

Maintain accurate records of marks and student performance.

Complete examination and assessment-related responsibilities within prescribed deadlines.

D. Academic Documentation

Maintain class attendance records and academic documentation.

Submit lesson plans, academic reports, marks, attendance, and other required documents on time.

Maintain records of student mentoring and academic activities.

Participate in departmental meetings and academic reviews.

E. Institutional Responsibilities

Participate in seminars, workshops, conferences, orientation programmes, admission activities, cultural events, placement activities, and other institutional programmes as assigned.

Support the HOD and Principal in departmental academic and administrative activities.

Participate in academic audits and quality-improvement initiatives.

Contribute to departmental development and institutional growth.

F. Research & Professional Development

Engage in research, publications, conferences, seminars, workshops, and other professional-development activities.

Stay updated with developments in the respective subject/industry.

Explore innovative teaching methods and academic practices.

Encourage students to participate in research, projects, competitions, and industry-oriented activities.

Preferred Profile


Relevant PG qualification in the respective discipline as per applicable regulatory norms.

Min 2-3 years Prior teaching experience will be preferred.

Strong subject knowledge and communication skills.

Good classroom-management and student-mentoring abilities.

Proficiency in digital teaching tools and academic technologies will be an advantage.

Research publications, certifications, or relevant industry experience will be an added advantage.
