HEAD OF DEPARTMENT (HOD) – ACADEMICS

About

Orchids The International School, powered by K12 Techno Services Pvt. Ltd., is looking for experienced and passionate academic professionals to join as HODs – Pre-Primary, Mathematics & Languages. This role is ideal for educators who are ready to move beyond classroom teaching and take ownership of department leadership, teacher development, academic quality, and classroom outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the respective academic department and ensure smooth day-to-day functioning.
• Mentor, guide, and train teachers on subject delivery, classroom management, lesson planning, and teaching practices.
• Conduct a minimum of 2 classes every day and actively monitor classroom effectiveness.
• Conduct daily teacher training sessions, including training for support staff where applicable.
• Support and monitor newly joined teachers to ensure they are well-prepared and delivering effective classes.
• Review and track 100 notebooks every day, identify gaps, and ensure pending corrections are completed.
• Monitor academic performance, classroom implementation, and teaching standards across the branch.
• Take classes in case of unexpected teacher absence and ensure learning continuity.
• Maintain regular academic reports and work towards continuous improvement of the department.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of teaching experience in the relevant subject/area.
• 3+ years in the last school preferred.
• Previous HOD/Academic Leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong skills in teacher mentoring, classroom management, academic planning, and training.
• A personal vehicle is preferred for branch travel.

Locations

Hyderabad | Bangalore | Pune | Mumbai | Chennai

Working Model

• One branch visit per day
• Designated base branch
