Role Description

Arkaya Design Studio is looking for an Interior Designer / Junior Interior Designer to join our team in a full-time role based in Mumbai.

We are open to hiring freshers as well as candidates with prior experience who are enthusiastic about interiors, materials, detailing, and the design process.

You will work closely with the Principal Architects and design team across residential and commercial interior projects, gaining hands-on exposure to design development, material selection, drawings, vendor coordination, and site execution.

This role is an opportunity to develop a strong understanding of the complete interior design process — from concept to execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing interior design concepts and design presentations
• Prepare 2D drawings, furniture layouts, elevations, and detailed drawings
• Develop 3D models and visual representations of interior spaces
• Assist with material, furniture, lighting, hardware, and product research
• Prepare material palettes, mood boards, and presentations
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants
• Assist with quotations, BOQs, and material specifications
• Participate in site visits and understand on-site execution and detailing
• Coordinate design requirements with the project team
• Participate in internal design discussions and client meetings
• Support the team through various stages of project development and execution
• Maintain organized drawings, material selections, and project documentation

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field
• Freshers and candidates with 0–2 years of experience are welcome to apply
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
• Knowledge of rendering/visualization software will be an added advantage
• Good understanding of materials, finishes, furniture, and interior detailing
• Strong visual sense and attention to detail
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn and take ownership of assigned tasks
• Interest in material-conscious, sustainable, and thoughtful design is a plus

Compensation

Salary will be decided based on the candidate's experience, skills, and overall suitability for the role.
