About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and creative Manager – Design (Ladieswear Woven) to lead the design and collection development function for ladies' woven apparel.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woven ladieswear, trend analysis, design development, fabric knowledge, and collection building, with prior experience working in reputed apparel manufacturing organizations serving renowned European and American buyers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive fashion and market trend analysis to identify upcoming trends, silhouettes, colors, fabrics, prints, and styling directions.
• Develop creative and commercially viable design sketchesaligned with current market and buyer requirements.
• Lead the design and collection development process from concept to final product.
• Develop cohesive seasonal collections for ladieswear woven, primarily focusing on non-denim products.
• Work closely with merchandising, product development, sampling, and production teams to ensure smooth execution of designs.
• Maintain effective and professional communication with international buyers to understand their design requirements, specifications, and expectations.
• Translate buyer briefs and market trends into commercially successful product concepts.
• Select appropriate woven fabrics based on garment style, construction, drape, appearance, functionality, and end-use requirements.
• Provide guidance on fabric, trims, colors, prints, silhouettes, and finishing techniques.
• Review samples and prototypes and provide constructive feedback to ensure design accuracy and quality.
• Monitor international fashion trends and competitor collections to maintain a strong and contemporary design direction.
• Lead and mentor the design team while ensuring timely delivery of collections and design developments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and product-development challenges.
• Ensure collections meet the required standards of design aesthetics, commercial viability, quality, and buyer expectations.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 4+ years of full-time professional experience in fashion/apparel design.
• Strong and proven experience in Ladieswear Woven, particularly non-denim products.
• Prior experience in design development and collection makingwithin reputed woven apparel manufacturing organizations.
• Strong understanding of woven fabrics, including fabric characteristics, construction, weight, drape, texture, and suitability for different garment styles.
• Ability to select and recommend appropriate fabrics based on design, silhouette, garment construction, and end-use requirements.
• Proven experience working with renowned European and/or American fashion/apparel buyers.
• Strong understanding of international fashion trends and ladieswear markets.
• Excellent creative, conceptual, and commercial design skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with international buyers and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to develop commercially viable collections while maintaining strong creative direction.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating ladieswear woven design and collection development is highly preferred.
• Candidates with experience in international apparel markets and export-oriented manufacturing will be strongly preferred.
• Frequent job changes will be discouraged; candidates with a stable career history and reasonable tenure in previous organizations are preferred.
