Role Description The Accountant role at IIHM Bangalore, Hyderabad, & Goa is a full-time, on-site position responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations of the campus. This includes maintaining accurate ledgers, recording and reconciling transactions, preparing financial statements, and assisting with budgeting and cost control for academic and administrative functions. The role involves processing accounts payable and receivable, handling fee collections and reimbursements, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and relevant financial regulations, and supporting internal and external audits. The Accountant will collaborate with academic and administrative teams to provide financial reports, support decision-making, and help maintain transparent, well-organized financial records.


Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including ledger maintenance, reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency in finance-related software and tools, such as accounting ERP systems, spreadsheets (Excel), and basic database or reporting applications.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of taxation, statutory compliance, and audit processes relevant to educational or service-sector organizations.
  • Candidates should possess skills in budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting to support management decisions and operational planning.
  • Candidates should possess attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with academic, administrative, and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field are preferred; professional certifications (e.g., CA/CPA/CMA or equivalent in progress or completed) are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in accounting within an educational institution, hospitality organization, or service industry will be considered beneficial.
