Back End Developer

Job Description

As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for building robust and scalable backend services, designing and implementing RESTful APIs, and working with database technologies to support application functionality. You will collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions while maintaining best practices in coding, testing, security, and application performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with Python frameworks such as FastAPI to build robust and scalable backend services.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs to support front-end functionality.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate frontend and backend components seamlessly.
• Utilize database technologies to store, retrieve, and manipulate data.
• Design and implement efficient database schemas.
• Optimize database queries for maximum performance and efficiency.
• Write and manage database migration scripts to handle schema changes efficiently.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and QA engineers.
• Write unit tests and conduct thorough testing to ensure the reliability and security of applications.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues to deliver high-quality software.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, and security in production.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Extensive experience with Python web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Proficiency in designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating them seamlessly with frontend applications.
• Expertise in using Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) for efficient database interactions.
• Proficient in designing and implementing database schemas.
• Experience with database migration scripts to manage schema changes efficiently.
• Knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including debugging and troubleshooting complex issues.
• Ability to approach challenges with a creative and analytical mindset.
• Demonstrated use of software design patterns to create maintainable and scalable code.
• Knowledge of architectural patterns for building robust and scalable web applications (e.g., microservices, layered architecture).
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including participation in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Understanding of code optimization and security best practices (good to have).
• Strong understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms in web applications (good to have).
• Experience with containers and containerized deployment (e.g., Docker) (good to have).
• Cloud experience to deploy, monitor, and manage web applications (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) (good to have).
• Familiarity with caching strategies and message queues (e.g., Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka) (good to have).
