The Senior QA/QC Lead, the candidate will serve as the primary authority on mission assurance for complex Defense programs. You will be responsible for the strategic oversight of total quality life cycles; from design and high-precision manufacturing to final field deployment; ensuring zero-defect performance in high-stakes environments.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Quality Governance: Architect and enforce the overarching Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with ISO9001, AS9100 Rev D and MIL STD requirements. Align project quality goals with organizational business objectives.
- End-to-End Testing Strategy: Direct the creation and validation of complex Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for propulsion, guidance systems, and warhead integration.
- Root Cause & Failure Analysis: Lead high-level technical investigations into systemic failures or critical non-conformances (NCRs), utilizing advanced methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) to implement preventive long-term solutions.
- Supply Chain Quality Leadership: Verify quality and veracity of sources of supply for various projects followed by preparation of standards/ rating matrix for the suppliers.
- Multi-Site Team Mentorship: Oversee a multidisciplinary team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors across multiple sites, fostering a culture of technical excellence and rigorous safety compliance.
- Documentation: Oversee and review preparation of QA/ QC documentation as per JSG0251/ JSG0852/ other relevant standards.
Qualifications
- Education: BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Aerospace/ Mechanical,/ECE/ Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: 15+ years in QA/QC within the Defence or Aerospace sectors, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership/departmental head capacity.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in specialized Defence standards (e.g., MILSTD 461G/ 810H, MILHDBK 217, JSS55555 etc) and advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt required; ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or PMP is highly preferred.
- Project Clearance: Extensive experience with government contract compliance and DGAQA/DRDO protocols is a plus.
