We're looking for three Observability Engineers to design and implement application- and process-level observability for Oracle Watchlist Screening (OWS). You'll build the dashboards, alerts, notifications, and anomaly-detection capabilities that let Engineering know — in real time — whether critical screening processes and their supporting integrations are healthy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, application monitoring, or observability
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Watchlist Screening (OWS)
  • Proficient in Python, TypeScript, Java, or a similar programming language
  • Experience working with databases, APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations

Responsibilities

  • Monitor real-time and batch screening volumes, throughput, failures, retries, backlog, and latency
  • Identify failed or long-running screening activity and processing bottlenecks
  • Monitor Dow Jones file processing for data freshness, completeness, and ingestion failures
  • Track data as it moves through standardization, tokenization, clustering, business rules, and screening readiness
  • Monitor OWS integrations with SFDC, Pelican, Snowflake, and other prioritized applications
  • Monitor alert creation, status changes, aging, disposition, and closure
  • Build executive and operational health dashboards
  • Define SLIs, SLOs, baselines, thresholds, and severity levels with Engineering
  • Configure notifications for critical failures, processing delays, data issues, and integration failures
  • Document dashboards, metrics, alerts, system gaps, and operational processes
  • Complete production validation, knowledge transfer, and final handoff

Out of scope: AWS infrastructure monitoring (server uptime, CPU, memory, disk, network).

  • Application & process-level observability / monitoring
  • Dashboard and alert development
  • Python, TypeScript, or Java
