· Quality Systems & Compliance
o Develop, implement, and monitor QMS aligned with ISO 9001, BIS, ASTM, MIL, ATEX, IECEx, and PESO standards.
o Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements for explosive manufacturing.
· Process & Product Quality
o Oversee inspection and testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products (e.g., RDX, HMX, TNT, PBX).
o Validate manufacturing processes including mixing, casting, pressing, and filling operations.
· Audits & Documentation
o Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits with regulatory authorities.
o Maintain traceability and documentation for all explosive batches and assemblies.
· Leadership & Training
o Supervise and mentor QA/QC teams.
o Deliver training on quality standards, safe handling, and compliance protocols.
· Continuous Improvement
o Drive initiatives to reduce defects, improve yield, and enhance operational safety.
o Introduce modern quality tools (SPC, Six Sigma, Lean) for process optimization.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Explosives Engineering.
· Minimum 8–10 years of experience in quality management within explosives, chemicals, or defense manufacturing.
Desired Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of energetic materials, polymers, binders, surfactants, and solvents used in explosive formulations.
· Familiarity with international certification frameworks (ATEX, IECEx, PESO).
· Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
· Leadership ability with focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
· Effective communication and collaboration across technical, operational, and regulatory domains.
Responsibilities
· Testing & Analysis
o Perform chemical, physical, and mechanical tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
o Operate and maintain analytical instruments (e.g., HPLC, GC, FTIR, DSC, spectrophotometers).
o Record, interpret, and report test results with precision.
· Laboratory Operations
o Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules, and consumables inventory.
o Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols.
o Support process validation and product development activities.
· Quality & Compliance
o Adhere to ISO, ASTM, BIS, and industry-specific standards.
o Document test procedures, results, and deviations in accordance with QMS requirements.
o Assist in internal and external audits related to laboratory operations.
· Collaboration
o Work closely with R&D, production, and QA teams to support product development and troubleshooting.
o Provide technical input for process improvements and material selection.
· Safety & Risk Management
o Follow strict safety guidelines for handling hazardous chemicals and materials.
o Participate in risk assessments and emergency preparedness drills.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline, BSc or MSc with Laboratory Experince
· Experience in laboratory testing, preferably in industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environments.
· Knowledge of analytical techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
