We are seeking to hire Storage L2 Engineer with 3 years of relevant experience in SAN, NAS, MSA, FC and Multipathing

1. Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days - WFO and 2 days remote)

Work location: - Bangalore (Electronic City)

Time zone/hours: Standard Time IST – 24 / 7 Rotational shift. Shift change once in a quarter

2. Role Overview

The L2 Storage Support Engineer will be part of the HPE Global Technical Support (GTS) organization, providing Level 2 technical support for enterprise storage environments. The role involves troubleshooting storage and SAN issues, resolving customer incidents, managing escalations, meeting SLAs, and collaborating with global customers and internal technical teams.

The engineer will receive structured training on multiple HPE storage technologies, including HPE 3PAR, Primera, Alletra, and related enterprise storage platforms.

3. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 technical support for enterprise storage environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage-related incidents.
  • Diagnose issues across SAN and enterprise storage environments.
  • Manage customer incidents, escalations, and service requests.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and provide appropriate issue resolution.
  • Monitor and maintain adherence to defined SLAs and support processes.
  • Interact directly with global customers and provide clear technical updates.
  • Collaborate with L1 support, product teams, engineering teams, and other technical groups.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and knowledge articles.
  • Take ownership of assigned incidents through resolution or appropriate escalation.
  • Continuously learn and support new HPE storage technologies.

4. Mandatory Technical Skills

Primary Skills

  • Enterprise Storage Troubleshooting
  • SAN / Storage Area Network
  • HPE Storage technologies
  • L2 troubleshooting and incident management

Supporting Technical Knowledge

  • Operating Systems – Linux/Windows fundamentals
  • Virtualization concepts
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Storage connectivity and SAN concepts
  • Incident, escalation and SLA management

5. Preferred HPE Storage Knowledge

Candidates with hands-on experience in one or more of the following are preferred:

  • HPE 3PAR
  • HPE Primera
  • HPE Alletra
  • Enterprise storage platforms
  • SAN environments
  • Storage provisioning and connectivity
  • Storage performance/troubleshooting

Note: Candidates with 3+ years of experience can be considered if they demonstrate strong hands-on enterprise storage/product knowledge.

6. Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of enterprise storage and SAN.
  • Ability to diagnose issues systematically.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills.
  • Experience working in a ticket-driven technical support environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple incidents and priorities.
  • Ownership mindset and willingness to handle escalations.
  • Ability to learn new storage technologies quickly.
