Surface Treatment Expert

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Surface Treatment expert role based in Bengaluru. The role involves planning, implementing and monitoring surface treatment processes for machinery components, including cleaning, coating, corrosion protection, and finishing to meet engineering and quality specifications. The expert will evaluate water and wastewater treatment requirements within the surface treatment area, select appropriate chemicals and process parameters, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with design and production teams, troubleshooting process issues, maintaining documentation and records of treatment parameters, and optimizing resource usage. The role also includes training operators and technicians on standard operating procedures, quality checks, and safe handling of treatment chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong expertise in Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, and Water Quality management as applied to industrial surface treatment processes.
• Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Chemistry relevant to coatings, corrosion prevention, and chemical treatment of surfaces and process water.
• Candidates should possess skills in Training and knowledge transfer to guide operators and technicians on process control, safety, and quality standards.
• Relevant experience in surface treatment operations such as electroplating, phosphating, painting, anodizing, or similar industrial finishing processes.
• Understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations and best practices for chemical handling and waste management.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, process specifications, and quality requirements, and translate them into practical treatment procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering and production teams.
• Diploma or degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
