Interior Designer

Company Description The Plot Studio is a Female lead design-focused interior practice based in Mumbai, dedicated to creating functional, aesthetically engaging spaces for residential and commercial clients. Role Description This is a full-time Interior Designer role based in Mumbai, structured as a hybrid position with a mix of in-studio work and some work-from-home flexibility. The Interior Designer will develop design concepts, prepare mood boards, and produce detailed drawings and documentation for residential and commercial projects. Daily responsibilities include space planning, selecting finishes and FF&E, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and ensuring design intent is maintained through execution. The role involves attending site visits, tracking project progress, and resolving on-site design issues in coordination with the project team. The Interior Designer will also support client presentations, incorporate feedback, and help maintain project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Interior Design and Space Planning, with the ability to develop functional, aesthetically coherent layouts.
• Proficiency in preparing Construction Drawings, including detailed plans, elevations, sections, and joinery details.
• Experience with FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) selection, specification, and scheduling.
• Comfort with design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar), and basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or other presentation tools.
• Strong visual and spatial design sense, attention to detail, and the ability to translate concepts into clear documentation.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Previous experience in interior design projects in residential or commercial sectors in Mumbai or similar urban contexts is an advantage.
