About Caliper Lab

Caliper Lab is an independent AI capability measurement institution. We build structured benchmarks and evaluations that investors and enterprises use to make real decisions, most often in live deals. Our work is used by private equity funds and leading advisory firms.

The role

We are looking for a consultant-profile hire to help scale our evaluation work and build industry deep dives, benchmarks, and reports.

You will:

• Build hypotheses and structure findings into reports and client-ready material
• Run industry and sector deep dives across multiple verticals
• Work with our data science and engineering team to turn evaluation results into clear analysis
• Own deliverables end to end, from question to finished output

What we are looking for

• 2 to 4 years at a leading strategy consulting firm (MBB, EYP, Strategy&, Monitor Deloitte, Big 4, other boutiques). Candidates from capability and research centres are welcome to apply
• Multi-sector exposure, ideally including private equity or diligence work
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to build a clear perspective from messy inputs
• Excellent PowerPoint and written communication
• Comfortable working with AI tools day to day, including Claude
• Comfortable with concepts in data science and technology. You do not need to be a data scientist or ML engineer, but you should be able to hold a conversation about how models are tested
• Appetite for an early-stage environment with real ownership and no layers

Why this is interesting

AI evaluation is a new field and the questions are genuinely unsolved. You will work directly with the founder, on live client work, in a small team where your output is visible immediately.

This will be a contractual role at the start, with potential to convert to full-time
