Senior Manager, Quality Engineering – Automation, AI & Performance

Location: India – Remote

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Quality Engineering to lead our automation, AI-enabled testing, and performance engineering initiatives. You will build and develop a high-performing QE team, define the automation strategy, introduce AI and agent-based testing capabilities, and strengthen performance and reliability engineering across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop Quality, Automation, and Performance Engineers.

• Define and execute the Quality Engineering and test automation roadmap.

• Drive automation across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Build scalable and maintainable automation frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines.

• Introduce Generative AI and AI agents for feature-file generation, test creation, automation scripting, test analysis, and other testing activities.

• Establish governance and review standards for AI-generated test assets.

• Provide technical direction for performance, load, stress, scalability, and reliability testing.

• Partner with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Architecture teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.

• Track quality metrics and improve automation coverage, test execution time, flaky-test rates, defect detection, and release confidence.

• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies in automation, AI, and performance engineering.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, test automation, or software testing.

• 4+ years of experience leading QE, automation, or performance engineering teams.

• Strong experience with modern automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.

• Experience with BDD and Gherkin feature files.

• Practical experience with Generative AI, coding assistants, or AI agents in software engineering or testing.

• Strong knowledge of performance testing, bottleneck analysis, scalability, and capacity planning.

• Experience with Agile, DevOps, cloud, and distributed application environments.

• Strong people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Automation/testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Karate, Appium, Cucumber, JMeter, or LoadRunner.

• Programming experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and observability tools.

• Experience with LLM platforms, AI coding assistants, or agent orchestration frameworks.
