Position: Senior Network Engineer / Technical SME – Telco Switching & Routing

Location: Delhi NCR / Mumbai
Experience: 10–12 Years
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer / Technical SME with deep expertise in Juniper and Cisco Telco-Grade Switching & Routing technologies. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience working in large telecom environments and should be capable of leading deployment, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization activities for carrier-grade networks. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and deployment of carrier-grade network infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper routers and switches.
  • Execute network migration, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolution of complex network issues.
  • Support network transformation and modernization projects.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, customers, and internal teams during project execution.
  • Prepare technical documentation, MOPs, HLDs, LLDs, and implementation reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Support pre-sales and solution validation activities when required.
  • Build and strengthen internal technical expertise for telecom network deployments.

 

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Juniper and Cisco Routing & Switching technologies.
  • Minimum 7–8 years of experience in a large Telecom/Telco environment.
  • Proven experience in implementing and supporting Telco-Grade Networks.
  • Hands-on installation and commissioning experience on carrier-grade routers and switches from Cisco and Juniper.
  • Strong understanding of: 
    • MPLS
    • BGP
    • OSPF
    • IS-IS
    • L2VPN / L3VPN
    • EVPN-VXLAN
    • High Availability & Redundancy Architectures
    • Network Security Fundamentals
  • Experience with troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues in production environments.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with large service providers such as Airtel, Vodafone Idea, Jio, BSNL, or similar telecom operators.
  • Knowledge of network automation and scripting (Python/Ansible).
  • Experience in DC and Backbone network deployments.
  • Relevant certifications such as: 
    • JNCIP/JNCIE-SP
    • CCNP/CCIE
  • Exposure to network monitoring and performance management tools.

 

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (B.E. / B. Tech) in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.

  • Ability to work independently on critical deployments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Team player with leadership capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel across customer locations as required.
